The Agonizing, Awful Irritating Disease Of Arthritis

It literally means joint inflammation. But the word arthritis does not even begin to describe the agonizing disease that affects the lives of millions each and every year. Teen Obesity

Obesity is not a condition where an individual is simply eating too much. Obesity is now acknowledged as a grave disease that is chronic. It is prevalent in all regions of the world without any race, gender, or ethnicity bias. However, it is seen to be more widespread in developed countries; in the United States, it has assumed alarming proportions. It is saddening to note that there has also been a rise in case of teen obesity in the country.

In just two decades, the percent of obese teens has almost tripled. Almost fifteen percent more teens border between being overweight and obese. Obesity is found to be a common eating disorder in teenagers and adolescents, as they generally do not follow a proper eating schedule and prefer ready-made food to the home cooked healthier food.

Manifestation of health problems due to obesity is lesser in teens than in adults. However, overweight teens are at high risk of becoming overweight adults. Hence, it is important to nip the problem in the bud itself and ensure that steps are taken to lessen obesity, and make them slimmer and healthier.

USCIS (INS) Continues To Expand Online InfoPass Service

Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly Immigration and Naturalization Services, INS) continues to rollout its immigration information by appointment system called InfoPass, with three new USCIS districts added last week. Atlanta, Boston and Houston are the newest additions, making the system now available in almost all major metropolitan areas with large immigrant populations. These areas include Los Angeles, New York and Miami.

Along with the Case Status Online service (allows user to check the status of some pending applications, e.g. green card applications) which was made available earlier this year on the Internet, and the electronic filing of the 12 most popular immigration forms, (accounts for more than 50% of all immigration benefit applications filed each year) InfoPass is the newest effort intended to reduce long lines and speed up the processing backlog of services provided by the USCIS.

InfoPass allows anyone who is living in a serviced USCIS district and seeking immigration benefits to schedule an appointment with immigration officers via the Internet. The simple to use online system allows users to discuss complex immigration issues with USCIS officials, while avoiding the long lines.

The secure Internet site offers service in 12 languages and is organized in a series of prompts, asking the user to enter their name, zip code, address, phone number and a desired appointment date. Once all the information is entered, the system will generate an appointment notice. Appointments are offered in two-week blocks. The notice will provide the address of the USCIS office and any information regarding required identification and/or additional documentation, such as a green card or work permit, to be presented at the appointment.

Essential First Date Basics

For the purposes of this article, I am assuming that your potential date is a stranger. It is therefore extremely important that you retain some degree of anonymity - and security - until you are reasonably sure that he is a safe person with whom to begin a relationship.

Carefully observe the following dating rules:

Do not have your date pick you up at home. Initially, your address (and telephone number) should remain a secret.

Always make sure that a friend or relative knows exactly where you will be going and when you will be returning.

Arrange for someone to contact you via cell phone at specified times. If you don't pick up, it is a signal that you are in some kind of trouble.

Always plan your first few dates for public places. The less confident you are of your date, the more careful you should be to select locations where video surveillance is in place.

If you have a camera cell phone, discreetly snap a photo of your date. When the opportunity arises, excuse yourself to use the washroom facilities, and e-mail the photo to a friend.

Never leave your drink unattended - not even for a second. It only takes a quick sleight of hand for a guy to drug your beverage.

Do not choose a noisy place for your date. This is your opportunity to talk and get acquainted.

First Date Locations

The following date ideas are generally arranged with the more secure and safer locations first; i.e., they are public and more likely to have video surveillance.

Be very observant on this date. Do you have similar tastes? Or are you total opposites? Although opposites attract, they do not usually result in the greatest long term relationships.

Go on a double date with another couple whose opinion you trust.

Meet for lunch in a shopping mall food court. This is your chance to watch your date's eyes. Do you they stay glued to you - or do they wander to check out every girl who walks by?

Meet at a local Starbucks. Starbucks serves great coffee and they are often next door to a book store. You can have coffee and then stroll through the book store together. A guy's choice of books reveals volumes about his personality.

Go for a window shopping jaunt. Take mental notes of his preferences. Are they similar to yours?

Get together for lunch at a small restaurant. If the weather is warm and dry, try to find one with sidewalk tables or a balcony.

Amusement parks can be a blast with the right man. You can talk while waiting in line or while walking from ride to ride.

Meet at a zoo or aquarium. Does he feel the same way you do about animal cruelty, conservation, and the environment?

Book tickets with a local bus tour or day cruise that you haven't tried before. Most people don't visit local tourist attractions. If the date doesn't pan out, you'll experience something new to talk about with the next guy you meet.

Explore a local museum. Museums are great settings for leisurely talks while you stroll and pore over all the exhibits.

Attend a local sporting event. Most spectator sports get the adrenaline pumping - and you can chat during intermissions or lulls in the play.

Try a sport like tennis, badminton, or squash. You can talk later as you grab snacks at a nearby fast food outlet. There is nothing like one-on-one sports to gauge a guy's patience, temperament, and competiveness.

Mini golf is enjoyable - and you'll have lots of time to chat.

Try volunteering for a charitable organization in some kind of group activity like a bottle drive or environmental cleanup.

A horse-and-carriage or hayride is a 'funtastic' event (if neither of you has allergies).

Here are a few more date ideas: planetarium, train ride, plant or butterfly conservatory, bowling, game arcade, roller skating, ice skating, driving range, picnic in a public park, billiards/pool, wine tasting tour, flea market.

Use your common sense to ensure that your first date is safe - but try to make it enjoyable as well.

An Introduction to Test Match

Test match cricket is the longest type in cricket sports and regarded by players and serious cricket fans as the ultimate test of playing ability when compared to one-day international cricket. Test matches are played only among national representative team chosen from the best players within a particular nation. Test cricket match is played for about five days, with three sessions of two hours spread with a 40-minute break for lunch and 20-minutes break for afternoon tea per day.

Match Conduct

A team winning the toss of the coin (for the purposes of this explanation, they would be termed "team A", with their opponents recognized as "team B") decides whether to bat or bowl first, and bats also until every batter is released or they prefer to stop batting (known as "declaration"). There is no limit to how long they could bat provided there stay at least two batsmen with no one dismissed. The teams then exchange roles, with team B batting and team A bowling plus fielding). If the cricket bats man B are dismissed with a score 200 runs or more behind team A, team A has the option whether to make team B bat again for their "second innings" (known as "enforcing the follow-on"), or bat itself to gain a bigger lead.

If the follow-on is imposed, team B bats till they are dismissed or declare. If team B's total gained score from both its innings is less than team A's score from the first innings, team A takes the cup home. If this is not the case, team A should bat in its second innings to try to score more than team B. If it succeeds in the available time, team A wins. If it is dismissed before this happens, team B wins (though this is extremely unusual - teams who implement the follow-on very hardly ever lose). If time runs out before either of the above occurs, the game is considered to be a draw.

Hourly rates, Flat fees, Retainers, and Contingent fees are common legal arrangements. How much is an hourly rate? It depends on his operating costs and experience. You need to shop around. However, cheaper is not always better. You want an experienced attorney.

Sometimes a lawyer may ask for a flat fee. You should know what that fee will and will not cover. For instance, filing fees may be excluded from the flat fee.

A retainer fee is an advance payment for a specific case, and it is usually non-refundable. If you drop a case, you usually forfeit the rest of your retainer fee.
